A large source of energy is being detected from what was assumed to be an ancient ritual site. Years ago, archeologists dug up a set of circular stones in the desert, with unknown runes on them. All present reported feeling a strong sense of unease as they were revealed.

Now the stones seem to be charging up from an unknown influence....
A portal has opened. The last team sent in never came back. What data we do have is not good, with strange creatures and alien geometries. It must be closed for good, lest what lies on the other side crosses the threshold to our world.

As pilot of a "RAID" ship, you are sent in to attempt to close the portal from the other side. The RAID is equipped with a experimental weapon that rapidly launches the blades on the wings like a claw, grabbing enemies in sequence to deal massive damage, nicknamed "Hug Blaster" by the R&D. You dive in, with no true idea of what to expect.

The fear of the unknown is strongest at night....

Epilogue:
The large machine screams as it falls down into the depths. You feel as if you've glimpsed Hell itself. You punch the RAID's engines as fast as they can go as the rift back to your world starts to shift and wane, emerging at the last second with a roar as the stones begin to fall and crack on the ground, the energy dissipating like a cloud of fireflies.
